HIGH Peak Liberal Democrats are celebrating victory in Thursday's by-election for the Blackbrook ward on High Peak Borough Council.

Edith Longden won the seat, previously held by the Conservatives, with a 219 majority.

Conservative candidate Geoff Colston polled 470 votes with Labour's Fiona Sloman getting 52 votes.
