High Peak Liberal DemocratsIT was success for the Liberal Democrats in the High Peak Borough Council by-election for the New Mills West Ward.
They retained the seat with Janet Carter securing a 172 majority over the Conservatives. There was a 71.3 per cent turnout.

The vacant seat on New Mills Town Council has gone to Hazel Body who was elected unopposed.
