NICE FOR STARTERS: a presentation of £500 from Liberal Democrat County Councillor Barrie Taylor from his Community Leadership Fund to Field Day event chairman Les Footitt.
FURNESS Vale Field Day Committee are delighted that they will once again be holding their Field Day event on Saturday May 22.
The event will take place on the recreation ground from 12 noon until 6pm, admission is free!
This is the 3rd year that the event has taken place and builds on the success of previous years.
The aim of the day is to raise funds to help develop the field into a space for all the community to enjoy. Why not go along and held them achieve their aims whilst celebrating a host of local bands providing an afternoon of live music.
Bands include: Rising Tides, Arcadian Daze, The Antidotes, DT's and The Stand, plus the much awaited re-union of a well known local band……to be announced!!
There will be a Yurt for interactive Art which will be hosted by Jill Kerr, a local and renowned artist. There will be football games and bouncy castles amongst other activities for children plus BBQ, refreshment tent, tombola and assorted stalls.
The event has already received much needed support from Whaley Bridge Town Council and County Councillor Barrie Taylor- through the County Community Leadership Fund - and the Bringing People Together Fund.
The event will be followed by a Comedy night to be held at Furness Vale Social Club on 10th July with the proceeds going to the Field Day Fund.
Tickets for the Comedy night are now on sale at the Club and are £8 - please note this event is over 18s only.
