The tramway from Buxworth will be closed as far as Whitehough for the period up to 21st March for resurfacing, paid for under the County's 'Greenway' project.
"This has been needed for some time" said Cllr Edith Longden. "The tramway has become a sea of mud in places. I use it several times a day on the school run so I know how just how bad it is."
