Cllr David Lomax in the Furness Vale playing field
Whaley Memorial Park is on track to return to its former glory with a big lottery grant, and also the prospect of a major improvement to the skateboard area with a separate successful grant bid by Whaley Bridge Association. Congratulations to all involved and in particular the Friends of the Park.
Now plans are progressing in Furness Vale thanks to Furness COGS (Community Organising Green Space) who are working hard towards plans to upgrade the recreation ground into a real park for everyone. The immediate aim is to apply for the QEII Fields Challenge which would safeguard the open space and make it eligible for grants. The field is owned and run by High Peak Council.
