Packed ‘Chapel Vision’ meeting in Combs and Chapel-en-le-Frith

As a result of controversial proposals for housing developments such as at Crossings Road four meetings have been held to develop a 'Vision' for the longer term within the Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish area.

At the meetings people were asked to put down what they liked and disliked about the area, and suggestions for improvements, not just about Planning issues but covering all aspects such as transport, leisure and other infrastructure facilities.

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday April 13th at Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall commencing at 7.00pm. It is the first meeting since the 4 initial public meetings were held in March and will review the ideas and suggestions put forward at the earlier meetings and set up the Steering Group, and other special interest groups, to help take the process of gathering information required for the preparation of the Parish Plan.

"For planning purposes it is important that we take into account new, lower population estimates and properly assess the brown field sites in the area" said Liberal Democrat Mike Harrison.

Chapel=en-le-Frith Parish Council, which also covers Combs, Tunstead Milton and Whitehough, arranged the meetings and the first one was held in a packed Combs Community Centre. Over a hundred people also attended the meeting at Chapel Town Hall.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Mike Harrison, currently Chair of Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council commented "We need to find out what people want, not just what they don't want."
