High Peak Liberal DemocratsPlease vote YES in the referendum on Thursday.
By voting YES, you can help to improve the system of voting for sending people who represent us as MPs in the House of Commons.
It is only the two big parties (plus the BNP) who want to keep the present arrangement of First Past The Past - simply because the present arrangement suits them but only them.
The newer parties - UKIP. Greens, Lib Dems, nationalists - want a fairer system.
Two hundred years ago, the UK elected MPs from "rotten boroughs". - That was changed in 1832 by the Great Reform Act.
Eventually, women were given the vote less than a hundred years ago.
Today, the British people support a range of parties that is much wider than two monoliths - so the voting system should reflect the public's new wishes.
If you are not a die-hard Tory or Labour voter, or even if you are, please vote for change on Thursday
All good wishes
Bill Newton Dunn MEP
