High Peak Liberal Democratsare preparing for their biggest ever year at Reading Pride, adding their weight to a full removal of the blood ban on men who sleep with men and women who sleep with them, ahead of a Liberal Youth motion at Federal Conference. They will also be launching local activist Jamie Wake's project 'OK2BGay' in Reading.
Local Lib Dems are also urging Trans people to take part in the Government's Trans Survey, produce videos in support of gay youth (for OK2BGay), buy T-Shirts with all profits raised going to BeYou Berkshire, and to support the Government Charter tackling homophobia in Sport.
Cllr. Daisy Benson, Group Leader of Reading Liberal Democrats commented, "Reading is a town held together by a diverse range of communities, and within them individuals with many different talents that make our town a successful place for business and a great place to live.
"I give my full support to this years Pride in celebrating diversity and the important work it does in promoting tolerance and acceptance of all people, whoever they are."
