Paul Holmes visits Gedling
Five of us went from Chesterfield on Sunday eve to canvass and had a very encouraging session.
Our candidate Andrew Ellwood (who only lost by 4 votes in May) is well known and popular ("keeps in touch through regular leaflets" "works all year round" etc) with even Labour voters quoting this to us. They are running a very good literature campaign too. Neither did we get the vitriolic anti Coalition/Cuts/Clegg reception that was dominant last April/May and led to the nationwide losses to Labour.
It really is worth everyone going and helping with this by election where a good, hard working candidate could gain his seat back from Labour and deserves help.
