High Peak Liberal Democrats
Recently Arriva scrapped the Number 24 Bus Service in the evenings. This has caused a huge amount of inconvenience for people in Chaddesden and Breadsall Hill Top.
Richard Hudson, Liberal Democrat campaigner, has spoken to many people in his local area. Now only the Number 22 service runs in the evening, it takes longer and costs more to get home from town in the evening. With the Number 22 service travelling through Oakwood first, it makes it a quicker and cheaper journey for people living there. It is accepted that in the evening there is not enough demand for both services.
Richard is campaigning for the services to be alternated in the area. It would make sense for the service to follow the Number 22 route, then alternate the opposite way and run the 24 Service. This would make it fair for people in Chaddesden, Breadsall Hill Top and Oakwood.
Furthermore, it would not cause that much of an inconvenience to Arriva. Richard said: "As it stands the current arrangement does not help people in my local area. I want this to be changed so it is fair. I have a petition going to try and force this to happen."
