High Peak Liberal Democrats
Bassetlaw Liberal Democrats have been campaigning for better facilities for the bus users of Worksop for the last 18 months. Earlier this month we launched our petition to the County & District Councils to start doing something about the disgrace that is the current Bus Station.
Nottinghamshire County Council has proposed to allocate £3 million towards a new Worksop Bus Station and next week on Monday March 5th, at the Council Budget Meeting, Leon Duveen will be asking Bassetlaw District Council if they will also be willing to put money towards it.
We welcome our MP, John Mann, also joining in the campaign, although the figures in his statement are wildly inaccurate, and we hope that he will not play party politics with this issue but join with us in working together for Worksop & the people of the town.
Later in the month we will be holding a public meeting to show the Councils & Stagecoach that they need to do something about the disgrace of a Bus Station. We have invited John Mann & representatives of the two Councils and Stagecoach to attend as well. It will be on Saturday March 24th at 1:30 pm in The Salvation Army Hall on Newcastle Street Worksop
