High Peak Liberal DemocratsThank you to everyone who worked so hard for the Chilwell and Toton election. The Tories held both seats but we achieved a huge swing to us. The figures were
Conservative 1958 48% (no change)
Lib Dem 1375 34% (+20%)
UKIP were on 682 17%,
Labour didn't stand and there were 87 spoiled papers.
Swing Cons>LibDems 7.4%.
The County division is made up of three borough wards. My impression is that we won Chilwell West, drew Chilwell East and the Tories won Toton and Chilwell Meadows.
Coming from a standing start this was an excellent result for us. We fell only 400 votes short at the end and we are all really appreciative of the efforts that everyone made.
