Baroness Ros Scott tables a question in the House of LordsLiberal Democrat Councillor and East Midlands Policy Officer Phil Knowles has raised matter of fuel duty for Air Ambulances with Baroness Ros Scott
Congratulating and giving credit to the originators of the online petition urging that the government look to exempt the Air Ambulances from Fuel Duty, in the same way that Life Boats are exempt. Phil Knowles called on everyone to support the petition and to get behind 'this worthy campaign'.
'' This matter impacts on communities across the whole of the country, the Air Ambulance does such a wonderful service and we must do everything possible to support it for the future. One such way is to address the fuel duty situation. This is not just a matter for the East Midlands, its a National situation''
Now Cllr Knowles has spoken with Liberal Democrat Baroness Ros Scot who has tabled a formal question on the matter from the House of Lords to The Coalition Government.
Cllr Knowles says: ''Baroness Scott tabled the written question on Thursday March 22nd - Baroness Scott of Needham Market to ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend to exempt air ambulance services from duty on fuel. The question should receive an answer by April 5th - its another important and additional route to drawing the Governments attention to this matter.
