High Peak Liberal DemocratsOfficers at Harborough District Council have confirmed that "smart water" marking has been rolled out and completed across the District. The concerns about protecting metal on play areas, memorial gardens etc across Harborough was taken up in September last year by Harborough District Councillor Phil Knowles and he is delighted at the news.
Phil says '' Its taken some considerable time to get this work completed. We have seen metal stolen from graves in Market Harborough Cemetary, public walkways in Welland Park and even the lead from the windows of the Council Office Head Quarters. I am grateful to the Officers at the Council who have worked hard to bring this extensive task to completion. Lets hope that the fact that smart water type marking is now widely and extensively in place will serve as a deterrent''
