Lib Dems at Manchester Pride 2011
Liberal Democrats will be flying the flag at Liverpool and Leeds Prides this weekend. Supported by the national LGBT+ Lib Dems, local activists will be marching and holding a stall in Liverpool, and on the Leeds parade. They'll be showing support for equal marriage and for science-led, risk-oriented policy on blood donation. Local supporters are encouraged to go and join in and fly the Lib Dem banners high with pride at our constant support for LGBT+ communities.
The Manchester Liberal Democrats have also confirmed their presence at at the Pride Parade and Lifestyle Expo at Manchester Pride on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
LGBT+ Liberal Democrats support local parties around the country with campaign materials, advice, promotion and support for pride events, getting local Lib Dems in touch with their local LGBT+ communities and concerns. Prides co-ordinator Dave Page said, "Local parties attending Prides is another great way for Liberal Democrats to stay in touch all year round."
Organisers have set up Facebook events for volunteers to signal attendance and stay in touch:
