High Peak Liberal DemocratsResidents of Trenant Road in the Eyres Monsell Ward of Leicester contacted the Liberal Democrat Focus Team recently complaining of difficulties with parking and general road access. A street wide survey was conducted and the results are as follows:
40% responded that it was Fairly Difficult to access their driveways during the daytime. 30% responded it was Easy.
60% of residents that have a vehicle responded it was Difficult to travel along Trenant Road during the daytime. Only 20% said it was easy.
55% of residents that responded wish to have the Outer Circle bus to continue to use Trenant Road, 30% did not wish the bus service to use their road which was originally "temporarily" re-routed along Trenant Road in 2007 to accommodate the service during carriageway refurbishments to the nearby Pork Pie island.
65% of residents responded that in 2007 they were not consulted about the possibility of the temporary arrangement, the remaining 35% responded not applicable to them five years ago.
50% of residents were in favour of a bus stop if the Outer Circle continued to use Trenant Road, 30% were against and the remaining 20% were of no opinion either way.
Residents were informed by letter of the results as indeed were Centrebus, the operators of the service 40 and 41 Outer Circle.
