When Lord Renard visited Corby for the official opening of the Corby Campaign Office it was an opportunity to catch up. Lord Renard who has very close ties to the East Midlands, asked East Midlands Regional Policy Officer, Phil Knowles to pass on a message to the region.
Phil says: ''Lord Renard and I have been friends for over twenty years and it was great to have the opportunity for a chat not just about his many ties to the area but the plans for the future. He asked that I did two specific favours for him. Firstly he asked me to pass on his very best wishes to his many friends and acquaintances across the region. Secondly, and very importantly he asked me to urge everyone to get to Corby, to support Jill Hope and to take the Liberal Democrat message and policies onto every doorstep.
The press, both local and national will be closely monitoring this result so its vital that we back Jill and help her. Even one hours delivering or canvassing will be welcomed so I hope that as many members as possible will respond positively to Lord Renard's plea for help''
