Inspect Gordon's Movember at Autumn Conference and DinnerBurnley MP Gordon Birtwistle, will be backing the "Movember" campaign to raise funds for prostate cancer research by growing a moustache during November.
Movember is an annual campaign the aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Gordon's father died of prostate cancer and when he was Mayor of Burnley Gordon raised nearly £60,000 for a prostate scanner for Burnley hospital.
"The last couple of years have seen increasing numbers of men, in some cases growing spectacularly bizarre moustaches to support this campaign. I'm delighted that I will be playing my part this year.
