Dave Page (second right) from LGBT Lib Dems on the Diversity Panel
Liberal Youth, the youth and students body of the Liberal Democrats, had LGBT+ issues prominently on the agenda at their recent conference in Manchester. Delegates resolved to support LGBT+ communities in Russia against recent Pride bans, and laws against LGBT+ expression, working with international youth bodies like IFLRY. The conference also reaffirmed the party's policy on equal civil partnerships.
LGBT+ Lib Dems were present throughout the conference in the Exhibition, discussing LGBT+ campaigning and policy work with Liberal Youth's members and signing up supporters at our youth rate. Exec member and Manchester resident Dave Page was also on the Diversity Panel, discussing and answering questions about how the Liberal Democrats can support diversity within the party, at home and abroad.
Dave said, "Liberal Youth is full of people who care deeply about equality, and particularly LGBT+ equality, and it was great to see the energy and commitment displayed at this conference. LGBT+ Lib Dems works with all parts of the Liberal Democrats and beyond to support LGBT+ people and issues. We enjoy a close relationship with Liberal Youth and look forward to working with them further in future."
