2012 has seen a marked increase in the prominence of 'Policy Debate' across the region. Yes there has been the usual high profile discussion at conferences but importantly the subject of policy is to be found regularly on the agenda at meetings of Branches and Constituencies across the East Midlands. I would like to thank the many members who kindly welcomed me to their meetings during the past twelve months.2013 will be a very important year. Council Elections, then the build up to the Europeans 2014. Then onwards to 2015 and the 'Westminster vote'. I will be travelling across the region quite extensively. Taking every opportunity to put Lib Dem policy and profile at the top of each and every agenda. I will do everything I can to support, promote and engage with members, activists, councillors and importantly the voters.
If you have meetings of any sort, including your branch/constituency or the possibility of joint meetings with neighbouring constituencies/branches please let me know, I will do my best to come along.
I hope that all members have a peaceful and happy Christmas time. That the festive period is an opportunity to rest but also to plan for the future campaigns and that 2013 will be a year of success for Lib Dem members across the East Midlands Region.
