Candidates may apply for money from the fund to meet the costs of disability-related support needed to stand for elected office, e.g. costs related to transport, communication, technology or support. The fund does not cover costs that all candidates for elected office have to pay (such as, the cost of producing leaflets for campaigning).

The scheme is organised by the Government Equalities Office (GEO), it is not run or administered by the Liberal Democrats. Therefore candidates interested in the scheme should apply directly to the GEO who administer the process. For more information, follow this link to the Access to Elected Office Fund website.

All approved candidates have already been notified but please feel free to continue to promote the scheme. If you have any further questions then you can contact Roxana Cimpeanu at Roxana[dot]Cimpeanu[at]libdems[dot]org[dot]uk in the Liberal Democrat Diversity Unit.
