High Peak Liberal DemocratsFormer Markets' Minister Andrew Stunell visited Stockport Teenage Market last Sunday in advance of the launch of the Love your Local Market Campaign, 15th-29th May.
The Market, held at Stockport Market Hall, was filled with 80 stalls where Stockport youth showcased their diverse talent, creativity and entrepreneurial skills.
Commenting, Andrew Stunell MP, former Markets' Minister, said -
"It was great to see so much of Stockport's young talent under one roof and to see the Market Hall so busy. I was very impressed with Stockport College's hair salon and Macclesfield College's Fashion stalls, both of which were run by enthusiastic young entrepreneurs. I urge Stockport residents to go and see this for themselves and support their local market."
"I actually met with the organiser of the event, Joe Barratt, the day before to discuss the progress of the Stockport Portas Pilot project, another pie Joe has a finger in, and another promising young Stockport-bred entrepreneur! He reassured me that after a few initial bumps earlier on in the road, things are now running smoothly which is great news."
