Mobile coverage improvements in East Midlands

Improved mobile coverage in the East Midlands has moved a step closer, with the appointment of Arqiva by the Coalition Government to deliver the necessary infrastructure for better phone reception.
The £150m Mobile Infrastructure Project (MIP) is designed to ensure that areas currently getting a raw deal in terms of mobile phone coverage get the future-proof infrastructure to ensure the UK remains a leader in the digital economy.
Commenting, Bill Newton Dunn Liberal Democrat MEP said:
"It's great news that better mobile coverage in the East Midlands has moved a step closer. Many companies and constituents have raised this issue with me as it is hindering them in their day-to-day business.
"Liberal Democrats want to build a stronger economy and that can only happen if we have the infrastructure to match our ambitions. To ensure people outside of cities share in the benefits of the digital economy, it is crucial we invest heavily in this now.
