High Peak Liberal DemocratsLocal MP Mark Hunter spent Sunday afternoon (12th May) celebrating 60 years of the MS Society charity with local residents at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church.
Mark, who was a special guest at the event, met with the team of volunteers of the Stockport and South East Manchester Branch and joined them for afternoon tea to raise funds for the charity.
As a charity, Multiple Sclerosis society provided support to MS's sufferers. Since 1953, the charity has been providing information and support, funding research and fighting for change.
Commenting, Ingrid Whiteman, Chairwoman, MS Society Stockport Branch said:
"In celebrating the 60th anniversary of the MS Society, the Stockport and SE Manchester Branch of the Society is pleased to increase awareness of the disease and its consequences.
"As the Branch offers support, advocacy and activities to anyone affected by a diagnosis of MS events like this help raise the branch profile and its accessibility."
