Mark Celebrates 20 Years with Fledglings
Mark Hunter, MP for Cheadle Constituency, spent Friday morning celebrating 20 years of the Fledgling Pre-school and Day Nursery in Bramhall with the parents, children and staff.
The nursery, judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted, started in 1993 and has gone from strength to strength.
On a special visit to the nursery Mark Hunter MP said, " I was delighted to attend the nursery and congratulate everyone in person on this significant achievement."
Mark had a tour of the nursery facilities and was able to see the improvements carried out thanks to a £75,000 grant from Stockport Council and the fundraising efforts of parents and friends.
"The facilities are excellent and it is an testament to the hard work of all of the staff that the nursery has been running for 20 years."
Mark added "Congratulations to all the staff, children and parents who have made today a special event for Fledglings Pre-school."
Julie Longbottom the nursery owner said:"It was fantastic that Mark could join us in our celebration of 20 years and to see how the nursery has developed from a pre-school into an established 'Outstanding' nursery. Due to the staff's on-going commitment and training, together with the SMBC capital grant and fundraising activities, we now have the facility to offer places to younger children and those with additional needs which is fantastic.
"Fledglings and all of the staff are dedicated to the provision of high quality, flexible, child-care at cost which is affordable to parents."
