High Peak Liberal DemocratsLocal residents across Cheadle constituency are ignoring the recent mixed weather and are continuing to enjoy a series of annual summer festivals and raising considerable funds for a whole variety of good causes in the process. Last weekend saw the Heald Green and Bramhall festivals and this Sunday sees the Gatley Carnival Parade and Fun Day. All are well established successful community occasions and provide a great day out for all the family.
Speaking at the Heald Green Festival local MP Mark Hunter said:
"I always try to support these events, not just because such a lot of hard work goes into organising them in the first place or even because they raise much needed funds for good causes - but also because they are a lot of fun!
"Congratulations to all who have been involved in helping to make these festivals such a success again this year. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for good weather on Sunday when I will be joining the crowds heading for the Gatley Festival."
