STUNELL ENCOURAGES STOCKPORT TO SUPPORT NATIONAL TRANSPLANT WEEK 2013
Andrew Stunell MP is supporting National Transplant Week 2013 (8-14th July) to encourage more people to sign onto the Organ Donor Register, as eight Stockport people await a suitable donor transplant.
There are currently over 26,000 people from the Hazel Grove area who have already signed onto the Organ Donor Transplant Register. Last year there were 18 successful transplants, and eight people are on a waiting list.
Commenting, Andrew said -
"I'm impressed by how many local people have already agreed to take this simple step to save another person's life. But the sad fact is that we still need more on the Register to meet demand.
I'd encourage anyone of any age to register. The 'Pass it on' message of National Transplant Week is simple: your decision now may help someone else in years far ahead lead a fuller life."
