High Peak Liberal Democrats
Liberal Democrats have a hugely important message to take onto the doorsteps and into the businesses across the East Midlands. The upcoming European Elections set the target date of May 22 2013 and it is now only 10 months away to make the difference in how people will vote.
It's a vote that will in many ways determine not just the future of our party and our country but possibly the future direction for the whole of the European family. If we are to campaign successfully and to make 2014 a positive result we need all the help we can get! We need as many people as possible in the team and actively part of the team. We need more 'pairs of hands'
East Midlands Regional Policy Officer Phil Knowles is also one of our European Team and is urging every member to support the One Plus One initiative that is being launched today in the East Midlands. '' I am asking every member to sign up just one person between July 16th and October 16th.
It could be a husband, wife or partner, a son, daughter or neighbour, a focus deliverer, a friend, or someone you have done case work for, possibly someone who has expressed support for the party when you were canvassing or even a lapsed member!.
Signing one new member may not seem much but putting it simply if each current member signs just one new member we DOUBLE our membership in the East Midlands!
An increased membership gives us a wider pool of help and expertise. It gives us more potential Councillors, MP's and MEP's. It increases our activist base to get our polices onto the debating table, it strengthens our party structure.
To make the One Plus One initiative a success we need your help. When you sign up your 'One Plus One' please drop the membership officer an email at oneplusone@eastmidslibdems.org.uk with your name, the new members name, email address (if possible) and local party so we can thank you and welcome the new members to the team''
As an additional incentive the member who signs up the most new members (minimum three) will receive a free ticket(1) to the Euro Dinner being held in Nassington near Oundle after the Autumn Conference on Saturday 2 November.
There are four ways to sign up new members or register lapsed members.
The easiest is online at https://www.libdems.org.uk/join_us.aspx .
But signing up either members, returning members or new members up by Direct Debit at https://pdd.libdems.org.uk/ will provide your local party with additional funds for campaigning as the whole subscription will be credited to them in the first year.

You can join the Liberal Democrats for just £12 a year. Concessionary Subscriptions of £6 are available to anyone who receives, or is entitled to receive, state benefits (other than state pension or child benefit). If you are a student or under 26, the minimum subscription is £6.
