High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP is encouraging Stockport residents to get their charity donation doubled through a Government funded campaign - 'Grow your Tenner'.
The 'Grow your Tenner' campaign will match any donation up to £10 that's given by anyone to local charities and community groups. The 'top up' money comes from a special Government fund.
Commenting, Andrew said -
"This is literally a gift to our many local charities. You can double their money simply by clicking through on the local giving web site.
So if you want your help for your favourite local charity to go twice as far, make your donation now, and get the Government to double it. It is as simple as that!"
Liberal Democrat Candidate for Hazel Grove constituency, Lisa Smart said -
"This is a no-brainer for supporters of our local charities and community groups - have your donation doubled at no further expense to you!"
"I'll certainly be spreading the word about this campaign to the charities I help out with, such as New Horizons Canal Boat Trust in Marple, so they don't miss out on this unique opportunity."
To get your donation to your favourite local charity or community group doubled just go to
Last year, Localgiving.com's Grow Your Tenner campaign enabled a £500,000 grant from Government to deliver donations which were 2.6 times higher. Localgiving.com has already used match funds to boost donations to charities on the platform by over £4million. This money goes directly to small local charities and community groups.
