High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP visited Offerton Precinct to catch up with progress on the building of the new Aldi store on Lisburne Lane.
"It's on track to be open in the Spring. It's going to be a great boon to local residents, and I have already had loads of feedback from people who just can't wait!" says Andrew.
Andrew Stunell MP, Lisa Smart, Dave Goddard and local councillor Wendy Meikle visited the site of the new Aldi store in Offerton recently to see the development firsthand.
Commenting, Andrew said -
"I've been working with Aldi on my campaign to recruit a hundred new Stockport apprentices in one hundred days. The company have agreed to take on 14 new trainees, and they will be looking to employ local people at this new store when it opens as well."
"So it's not only about getting a new supermarket for Offerton, it is about making sure that there is more work and training for local residents and young people as well."
Lisa Smart, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Hazel Grove constituency said -
"I'm delighted that Offerton will soon benefit from a brand new Aldi. When I volunteer in the local Community Centre so many people tell me how happy they are that the local Lib Dems have delivered their promise of redeveloping the precinct- I'm proud to be a part of this".
The new ALDI store on Offerton Precinct should be open by Easter and you can already see that the store is on its way.
