South Northamptonshire Liberal Democrats welcomed East Midlands European Spokesperson Phil Knowles as their special guest at their 2013 AGM.
Addressing the members Phil thanked them for their ongoing support and hard work. He continued by asking them to take every opportunity to urge the community to vote to keep the UK at the heart of the European Union by voting Liberal Democrat in 2014 and not to allow the country to sleepwalk out of the European Union and into a position of isolation.
''The Liberal Democrats have a clear message to put before the voters and its vitally important our members push it home. In Europe? In Work? - If we sleepwalk out of the European Union 3.5 million jobs will be at risk. Jobs lost then bring the questionable ongoing security of homes, families and the ability to plan for the future. The stark reality - it really is the case, Out of Europe?
