Market Rasen Ambulance Station
We, the undersigned, demand that
a) Market Rasen Ambulance Station is kept open
and
b) A minimum of TWO ambulances are based at Market Rasen Ambulance Station with standby locations within the LN7 and LN8 Post Code areas
There has been a clear community response - that Market Rasen ambulance station should remain open.
Everyone who has signed the petition has become part of the campaign to make sure that emergency response ambulances are always on stand by in the Market Rasen area.
The campaign will now move forward. The next step is to put EMAS (East Midlands Ambulance Service) under pressure to give details of how they will provide a proper level of ambulance cover for the LN7 and LN8 postcode areas.
Huge concern is already being expressed in other parts of the region. In the last few days The Derby Telegraph has described recent revelations of EMAS failures as 'A horrifying catalogue of errors and incompetence.'
EMAS as an organisation could be close to meltdown.
The Chairman and the Chief Operating Officer have both resigned in the last four weeks, and a number of administrative policies have been frozen.
The case for a full external investigation of EMAS is now overwhelming. The best way forward is most probably for EMAS to be taken into 'Special Measures' resulting in the appointment of a new senior management team drawn from other successful NHS ambulance trusts - and a complete overhaul of the way in which our ambulance service is run.
