High Peak Liberal DemocratsSt Peter's Catholic Primary School pupil Lara Harding, aged 9, has won first prize in local MP Mark Hunter's annual Christmas card design competition. Her brilliant design has now been made into over 40,000 cards which will be sent out to local residents.
As usual, Mark received hundreds of entries by talented young artists from schools all over the Cheadle constituency and the competition was strong. The winning entry features a wintery Christmas tree topped by a star.
Mark paid a visit to St Peter's to congratulate Lara, show her how the finished card looks, and to award her with a special prize in recognition of her achievement.
Commenting, Mark said:
'Once again the young local people have produced hundreds of great designs for my Christmas card and I'd like to thank everyone who entered; the decision on which was the winning entry was very difficult! Lara's beautiful drawing of a snowy Christmas tree is, for me, a worthy winner.'
