I would like to join our chair, Tony Rogers, and wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on behalf of the European Team. And, as a European Candidate, I would like to take the liberty to wish us all 'a Happy WIN Year'! Because WIN we can and WIN we must in May 2014 even though it might a Sisyphus-ian task. (Hence the cartoon - and once we roll the Election up the hill, down it comes and it will be Westminster Elections in 2015 …)
To WIN my message for Christmas would be - Don't be late - donate.
You can donate pounds - I still think five pounds is a lot of money, but recently I paid over £5,00 for a pint of beer in London. And £5,00 is the cost of 10 second class stamps. How about a pint each? I mean £5.00 each?
Please donate £5.00 now
or send a cheque to Peter Morris, East Midlands Liberal Democrats. The Pantiles, Kirkby Underwood Road, Aslackby, Lincolnshire NG34 0HN.
Or you can donate time - fund raising is the game in town just now. Think of ONE business in your area, pro European either export or origin, likely to give us £1,000 plus and phone them to find out who to talk to. Please send me the address, name and the contact number. I promise to follow the lead.
To WIN my message for the New Year is:
O Come All Ye Faithful, Joyful and Triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Action Days.
From January 2014 there will be Euro Election Action Days on:
Saturday 18 January 2014
Saturday 1 February 2014
Saturday 15 February 2014
Saturday 22 March 2014
Saturday 12 of April 2014
The election is on Thursday 22 May
We have an excellent message and a very true message
In Europe, In work.
So my second message (for your New Year resolution) is to think about places we can take our Lib Dem message to: Polish shops, shopping malls, friendly editors, radio, TV, web, social media - anywhere where people congregate. More people support Europe than they would naturally support Liberal Democrats. Our challenge is to persuade them that this time around their best bet are Liberal Democrats.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New-WIN Year.
George

The highlight for me in 2013 was the Euro-Dinner after our Regional Conference. Julian Huppert (right) was the speaker, we raised £645.00 and it looks like we are enjoying ourselves!
