2013 finished with a high for the East Midlands Liberal Democrats, thanks to an extraordinary successful result in the Scotter Rural (Lincolnshire) County Council By-Election, which we won by over 400 votes.

We can build on this success in four forthcoming by-elections, all of which we really hope to win. The first two are a double election in Stapleford, on the 23rd January. These will be followed by a further election to West Lindsey District Council, Scotter ward and to Birstall Wanlip Ward at Charnwood Borough Council when these have been called.

May I make a plea to every Constituency Chair, and all members within the East Midlands Liberal Democrats, to support the Candidates, Goff Walt and Matthew Holden, and Foot Soldiers of Stapleford, Scotter and Birstall by working for just two hours, enabling us to achieve two more famous victories. Stapleford have planned an action day on Saturday 11 January

Finally, I would like to thank you very much for all your dedication to the cause. We have an immense responsibility in 2014 to return the most hard working European Member of Parliament , Bill Newton Dunn - providing we all do our bit, Bill will be returned.

Wishing you all a very Happy and Successful 2014.

Tony.
