High Peak Liberal DemocratsLet me wish you all a belated Happy, Healthy & Wealthy 2014.
As some of you already know, I have succeeded Charles Shaw from the 1st of January 2014 as Chairman of Lincolnshire Federation of Liberal Democrats.
While our party is turning the corner through hard work by Lesley Rollings and her supporters, getting her elected to the Lincolnshire County Council and increasing the number of Liberal Democrats on LCC from three to four but still there is no room for complacency.
This year with the E.U. elections looming ever closer we need to galvanise every member and all our supporters into action to get Bill Newton Dunn re-elected to fight for East Midlands as well as the whole Country and build on our recent successes.
Think back, why are you a Liberal Democrat? Whatever the reason was, it wasn't to have an easy life and remember, "You have not lost until you stop trying."
Also, remember this
The Conservative Government, without the Liberal Democrat's tempering would have made the poor even poorer.
A Labour Government would reverse most of the benefits achieved so far forgetting that we are still paying for their mistakes last time in power. I know they meant well but the country cannot afford them.
The Independent candidates are not always, what they seem. Often they are members of a party with independent somewhere in the name. When this is the case, this must be revealed to the electors.
UKIP, despite most of the businesses (who are providing the jobs) telling us to stay in Europe, insist they know better.
As I have said, we have tough times ahead but with hard work and determination as they say the sky is the limit.
Our next meeting of the Lincolnshire Federation is 08/02/2014 at the Daycentre, Neal Road, North Hykeham LN6 9UA
