High Peak Liberal Democrats.
Speaking late on Saturday afternoon Issan Gahzni and Phil Knowles thanked the local team for all their hard work.
'' We much appreciated the warm welcome of the local team and of the residents we chatted with as we went door to door delivering the latest edition of our Focus newsletter.
"There were so many issues that people wanted to discuss, both local and national.
" It was also encouraging to see that there is a wish to engage in the discussion about the importance of the UK maintaining our place at the heart of the European Union.
" Liberal Democrats know that there are things within the EU that need to be challenged, any organisation that spends millions of pounds each year moving the 'seat of government and staff' between Strasbourg and Brussels has to acknowledge that some things are over due for change
"We have to ensure that the UK stays as a key part of the European Union to encourage these changes are made and importantly to protect the 3 million plus UK jobs that depend upon our place in Europe''
