High Peak Liberal DemocratsHigh Peak Liberal Democrats regret to report the death of our constituency Treasurer, Bob Hobson. He had been in the renal unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary since before Christmas.
Bob was a founder member of the SDP, and remained a loyal and committed member of the Liberal Democrats through all the highs and lows that followed. Over the years he delivered thousands of leaflets, and also constructed and erected very many poster boards. He served several terms on Chinley, Buxworth & Brownside Parish Council.
His career was in the computer industry from its early days, and as treasurer he strove to ensure the constituency followed sound financial practices, and played an active part in fund raising events.
Our sympathy goes out to his wife, Glenys, also a long term party member, deliverer and fundraiser.
Bob will be very much missed as a colleague and friend.
