High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP and Lisa Smart were delighted to attend the opening of Cherrywell cafe and community centre on Cherry Tree, Romiley at the weekend.
Commenting Lisa Smart, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hazel Grove, said -
"This is a great addition to the community - credit really must be given to all involved with Project Cherrywell for doing such a great job!"
"I know all the volunteers involved really want the message to get out that this is a centre for local residents. So I really would encourage all locals to make use of the centre by dropping in for a cuppa or getting involved with one of the classes, I know I will be!"

"This is a great reward for loads of hard work and fundraising by local volunteers, and it will be a real hub for the whole community. Well done, Cherrywell team!"
Project Cherrywell is a voluntary community group and cafe made up of local people from Cherry Tree, and they are always looking for new helpers!
The coffee shop is now open and anyone is welcome for a brew anytime between 9-4pm Tuesday-Thursday. The centre is open for bookings and offers free wifi.
