High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP is asking Stockport's community football clubs to bid for a share of the FA's £102million grant fund to improve pitches, pavilions, and lighting.
Commenting, Andrew said -
"The money is waiting for collection, and I want our local clubs to get their share. The Football Foundation wants to hear from teams with plans, and I'm ready to point clubs in the right direction. There is a lot of money at the top level of the football industry, but not enough comes back to help the grassroots, so when there is a chance like this, let's take full advantage of it."
Grants will range from £10,000 up to £500,000. There will also be an opportunity to apply for smaller grants in Summer 2014.
