“CASH TO HELP WITH CHILDCARE COSTS IS GREAT NEWS!” says Stunell

Andrew Stunell MP welcomed the Government announcement that nearly 9,000 Stockport families will benefit from up to £2,000 per child to ease the cost of childcare.

Commenting, Andrew said -

"Today's news provides a huge boost to hardworking families in Stockport. The Liberal Democrats are committed to building a stronger economy and a fairer society and this helps children get off to the best start in life."

Working families will be given up to £2,000 to ease the cost of childcare as part of a scheme to be rolled out in Autumn 2015. The Government has said it will provide 20 per cent support on childcare costs up to £10,000 per year for each child. For example, it means a family with two children under 12-years old could benefit by up to £4,000 as a result.

The Government has also said people on Universal Credit will get 85 per cent of childcare costs fully covered.
