Euro candidate, Issan Ghazni sees job creation in the East Midlands thanks to European funds

Stephen Williams, Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and European candidate, Issan Ghazni visited Nottingham on Tuesday 25th March 2014 and met with projects that have received European Regional Development Funding, to see how it is improving employment for the East Midlands.
According to a study undertaken by South Bank University over 3 million jobs are dependent on Britain being in the EU and could be under threat if Britain was to pull out.
Liberal Democrats are fighting for a stronger economy by defending millions of British jobs, working to create millions more and putting thousands of pounds back in people's pockets. We are achieving this by supporting EU membership, making it easier for British companies to trade with other countries and slashing red tape for small businesses.
Stephen Williams, MP and Lib Dems European Candidate, Issan Ghazni visited First Enterprise Business Agency (FEBA) at to meet with successful businesses, to discuss the work of FEBA and how this has been supported by the European Regional Development Fund
Issan Ghazni, who hosted Stephen Williams on the Nottingham visit said "It was great to see the excellent work that First Enterprise has been doing: that it is supporting more small business to start up without having to rely on a bank. The money from the European Regional Development Fund is being put to good use in helping create jobs. The Liberal Democrats want Britain to stay in Europe so we can protect jobs and increase trade. Projects like this prove how important the EU is to the UK economy."
Speaking at the event, First Enterprise Business Agency Chief Executive, Quamar Zaman said: "We are very pleased to welcome Stephen here to meet with the real life success stories that are creating valuable employment opportunities in the city and boosting the local economy with help from our loan funding."
