Issan Ghazni says the European Social Fund is a boost for the local economy

East Midlands MEP, Bill Newton Dunn and European Elections candidate Issan Ghazni recently met a group of students over lunch at the Vernon Community College in Nottingham.

The college has received money from the European Social Fund to provide language, employment and integration support to help unemployed residents in Nottingham. The students were all keen to develop their skills, improve their employment chances and to boost the local economy.

Issan said "It's amazing to see the way in which the college is working with EU funds to support economic development and to help students enter the employment market in shortage areas. We need pro-European MEPs who understand what's on offer from the EU and will promote these funding opportunities within their communities. If more organisations apply for funding such as this we will be able to help more people have success in the jobs market."
