High Peak Liberal DemocratsDear Sir or Madam
Yes I did vote but apparently it was to no avail, and now we hear cries for a trophy head to hang on the wall. I've always supported the Liberals because I thought they were fair and tried to rise above personal politics and do a good job.
I now hear of websites and online petitions where one can sign up to say you shouldn't have done it that way and it's all your fault. But what about a website or online petition where one can say yes it could have been better but the time to have done something was three years ago when the coalition was formed. We could have been more proactive in saying what the Liberal party in coalition was doing. Pointing out where policies were moderated instead of allowing other parties and people who did not understand what the coalition was to say that promises were broken. The promises given in the manifesto would only hold if it were a single party government but that was never done or not forcefully enough.
We do not live in a primitive society where we say that the King must die so that we shall have a good harvest next year. Instead we must rally round Nick and show that we support him and it would appear that in this modern society the only way to do that is with an online petition. Perhaps somebody in your office can organise one.
Yours faithfully
Dave Ellis
