Morsbags - 5000th (Andrew Carpenter)

East Midlands European Spokesperson Cllr Phil Knowles was one of the guests attending this weeks celebrations for the production of the 5000th HitBag/MORSBAG in Harborough South Leicestershire.

The 5000th bag was presented to Heather Jacks - Winner of last years 'Sewing Bee' who also 'cut the celebration cake' prepared for the evening.

Speaking after the event Cllr Knowles said '' The 5000th bag is a terrific achievement and has made such a positive contribution to the environment by saving the use of tens of thousands of plastic carrier bags. The Harborough team make all of the bags from donated fabric and the bags they produce are then given free of charge to members of the community''
