Stockport businesses are being urged to apply for a share of £200 million Regional Growth Fund cash by local MP Andrew Stunell & Parliamentary Candidate Lisa Smart.

Round 6 is up for grabs from today, and is there to support eligible projects and programmes that boost economic growth and create local jobs.

Commenting Andrew said -

"Stockport is doing well, with more people in work than ever before, but we can certainly do even better, and the Regional Growth Fund makes it easier for businesses to expand and develop locally."

Lisa Smart, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hazel Grove, said -

"This is a great opportunity for our local businesses to benefit from free cash! The Government has recognised that by supporting business it boosts our economy and provides much-needed jobs for local people. I really would encourage all our local businesses to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity and secure some of it for Stockport!"

Round 6 of the RGF opened on 19th June 2014 and bidders can submit their applications up until midday on 30th September 2014. Successful bidders have up until March 2017 to spend their funding.

RGF roadshows and Expression of Interest meetings are being held to help guide and inform potential bidders on their application.

The Manchester RGF roadshow is being held at Manchester Town Hall on 23rd July at 10am and interested businesses can arrange an Expression of Interest meeting with an officer from the RGF team on 4th August at Piccadilly Gate Store Street, Manchester, M1 2WD.
