High Peak Liberal DemocratsAs the summer term comes to a close, schools across Cheadle constituency are holding events to celebrate their pupils' achievements; occasions that are particularly special for those moving up to secondary schools or to leave school all together at the conclusion of their GCSEs.
Local MP, Mark Hunter MP was invited to attend Cheadle Hulme's Greenbank Preparatory School's summer Speech Day as Guest of Honour, to present the prizes and certificates.
Commenting afterwards, Mark said:
"I'm grateful for Greenbank for inviting me to what was a great event; it was lovely to see so many trophies awarded for excellence, endeavour, helpfulness and a whole range of qualities. I am fortunate that as part of my role as MP I get to visit schools often to meet with teachers and pupils and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate pupils from every school in Cheadle constituency for their achievements this year; I hope they enjoy their well-deserved summer holidays!"
Headteacher of the independent primary school in Cheadle Hulme, Janet Lowe, said:
"Mark Hunter has always been a great friend to Greenbank and has come to talk to our children on numerous occasions, while also meeting us in Westminster to show us what life is like in the hot house. Regardless of any political view point, we consider him to be a very good friend and a great example to the children."
