High Peak Liberal DemocratsDisability Rights UK, along with Age UK and Parkinson's UK, has written to the Minister for Disabled People Mike Penning calling for the DWP to abandon its plans to automatically reassess for PIP those DLA claimants who were under 65 as of 8 April 2013 but are now over 65 or will be by the time they are reassessed.
According to the DWP's own figures up to 206,000 over 65s may be affected.
Among the most worrying thing for older disabled people is that they will lose their higher mobility DLA payments as the test for the higher PIP mobility rates is the lack of ability to reliably mobilise just 20 meters.
