High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP and Prospective MP Lisa Smart are encouraging all potential entrepreneurs in Stockport to attend StartUp Saturday to see what help is on offer with starting a business.
StartUp Saturday is a day-long workshop on 13th September in Manchester Central Library aimed at helping would-be entrepreneurs take their first step towards reaching their business goal.
Commenting, Andrew Stunell MP said -
"If you've been thinking of taking your skills or your brilliant new idea and turning it into money, then running your own business to do it can be very fulfilling. Stopfordians have one of the best records for starting up new businesses, and this event can be the stepping stone for the next wave to get moving, too."
Commenting Lisa Smart, Prospective MP for Hazel Grove said -
"This is the perfect opportunity for those in Stockport who have been thinking about starting up a business to have their questions answered and see what help is on offer to assist them in doing just this. During my 10 years of business experience, I know only too well how hard it can be to take that first step into a venture, extra help at the start is just what is needed."
"There are already over 160,000 self-employed people in Greater Manchester and over 10,000 new businesses started up in Manchester just in the last year alone. We really are leading the way for the north and workshops like this can only help us get even stronger. I urge all of those who have been thinking about starting a new business venture to attend StartUp Saturday."
Emma Jones, co-founder of national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain, will be running the workshop.
