High Peak Liberal DemocratsAndrew Stunell MP & Lisa Smart, Prospective MP for Hazel Grove, were put in the hot seat and quizzed by children at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School during Parliament Week recently.
Commenting on the visit, Lisa Smart, Prospective MP for Hazel Grove, said -
"I thoroughly enjoyed visiting St Christopher's to see what they've been working on for Parliament Week. You could tell that the children had really thought hard about what questions to ask us, and had come up with some really tough, inquisitive questions as a result!"
"It was great to see the school engaging with Parliament Week and to see such enthusiasm from the children we met."
Andrew Stunell MP said -
"Whoever said that young people aren't interested in politics missed out St Christopher's in their survey! The children were brilliant, and I was delighted to bring a taste of Parliament to the school as part of the national Parliament Week project."
Mr May, St Christopher's Year 5 teacher, said -
"Having spoken to the children afterwards, it was clear how much they had learnt, and also how much they had enjoyed the session. They had worked hard to come up with such good questions and I think they really appreciated Andrew's & Lisa's time in answering the questions thoroughly."
Mrs Garner, Headteacher of St Christopher's, said -
"I would like to thank Andrew & Lisa for their visit last Friday. It was so positive for our children and really enhanced the work that has been going on in school."
